After a long day at work, I often find comfort and peace to sit on my deck. I have equipped this room alone, with plants, nickel-NAS, and of course my grill. We also installed a hot tub, sunk into the deck for easy entry.
My contractor built the deck in pressure treated wood and decided to wait until the bridge needs a sealer before applying the treatment. You see, the pressure treated wood (often treated as a salt), permeated by aPreservatives to prevent decay, so they are left untreated, will rot for almost 20 years without damage from termites or last, or so they say.
What really happens is that the wood is very dry, finally, open cracks and splinters do not shoot, the best surface for running barefoot. After the time out again and the nails are made by the constant expansion and contraction of the wood.

The next thing you should do in this project is to choose a product that is right for you. There are an infinite variety of sealers that can be used, some of which are marketed aggressively. You've probablyheard of the seal of Thompson and others, but only because the market is good, it does not, these products are the best.
Basically there are two classes of products for this application: oil and acrylic on watercolor. Most consumer products, oil-based variety, and usually these products really last about two years, first with an application. Look at the labels and take note, as you should clean your brushes and equipment. If cleaning isThinner or mineral spirits, you're watching an oil based product.
Acrylic-based products are usually applied last 3-8 years, depending on the number of layers, and these products are cleaned with water and detergent. As with all coatings materials, these products have both advantages and disadvantages.
The long-lasting acrylic products cost more per gallon, and usually require additional levels in the initial application. The acrylic paint can also be on a wet surface, which are appliedactually an advantage, because it is always necessary to clean the surface prior to coating. Acrylic products can clean and seal the day the bridge itself, which is a big no-no for petroleum products.
Oil on Sealers are required to provide a clean, dry surface to apply, so after cleaning, you have to wait a couple of days before sealing.
Both classes of products is also available in a variety of colors, all of which are transparent, allowing the detail to see the wood grainbetween them.
These colors will give you a variety of colors to choose from and I suggest you pick up some samples to take home. If you want to take a clear sealer, you want to see samples close to your home to avoid a clash with the color ring seal exists. Both versions offer clear acrylic and oil product, but be careful, especially with the oil-based products, these offer the least protection and durability for the money.
As with all paints and sealants, theUV rays are emitted from the sun is the most important factor in the deterioration of the material. These rays dry the material in time and make the protective effect. Oil-based products are generally not nearly as good as their counterparts long acrylic, so consider this if your budget.

Before you apply the cleaner, you want to protect thesurrounding areas, as the label of the products required. Most detergents kill plants and grass if they are protected, but if you're keeping it moist throughout the process, chemicals are usually safe and diluted no harm arose.
Always read labels carefully and apply the labels warning of the situation, to avoid damage. If your deck has been stained or sealed, first you probably need to strip the old material from the surface. If your deck has been sealed andjust use the same product and color, you can usually apply another coat after a thorough cleaning.
The most common way to apply this cleanser is a high-pressure cleaner with a tube pick-up chemical. If you can not have a pressure washer, you can easily hire one at your local paint supplier or hardware store. Ask your dealer to give you a quick lesson on its use and be sure to ask specifically how to use the suction pipe.
Mix chemicals in a 5 gallon bucket and put thePickup tube into the mix. With the chemical wand applicator, apply the chemical, all the required fields and then wait about 10-15 minutes. You will see the wood to its original color before your eyes.
After the time required to start the chemical washing thoroughly. To wash properly without damaging the wood surface more and more gentle pressure and keep the washer from the top surface of the wood. If necessary, you can get closer to the surface to removethick accumulation of mold or other contaminants, but beware, the more harmful cleaners wood surfaces irreversible, if you get too close or too hard a bit. A good rule is always the lowest pressure necessary to do the job. You want to avoid that the wood appears blurry.
Continue to rinse the surface until the rinse water is clear and free of any yellow color. Finally, rinse all the surrounding plants and grass.
If you selected an acrylicSeal, you are now ready to apply the primer seal, if not clean, and relax for a few days.
Before sealing, you want all the surrounding areas, you do not want to get the material to protect as well.
Realize that the sealant drips down through the floorboards, and you have no other concrete surfaces or under bridges covered with sheets. In addition, depending on the method of application, you may need to protect some of the metal parts orto cut that can be sprayed on, if you have a pump-up type sprayer to apply the material you want.
Pump-up sprayers are often used to make these materials, because many homeowners are already a spraying of herbicides and pesticides. Be sure to clean the sprayer thoroughly before and after use - these materials can clog the tip of irreversible and ruin the pump if not cleaned properly.
If you are brushing, you buy a big brush, 6 or 8 inches, and perhaps even one that fitsrod. This allows you to do the hard work in standing position, diving from a 5 gallon bucket.
In both cases you read the label on the material and apply it by following the instructions with the appropriate number of coats and drying time. You want to stop in the middle to avoid the application of a given area, and once again that the environment is a bit 'dry as this can cause blemishes to round.
