Your RV was inactive during the winter. Now the first signs of spring are here and it's time to put it to storage and preparation of coaches and chassis for the camping season this year. If you're like me, you want to follow a kind of logical order, rather than having haphazardly checking the unit out. I use a simple checklist so that nothing is overlooked. I prefer it, most of the spring preparing to do it myself. If you're more comfortable that someone else doesYou can make an appointment with a reliable service RV center, plan to get it done.
* Depending on how your unit was winterized to be de-winterized. If you use non-toxic antifreeze RV, you must run clean water through the system until all traces have disappeared from frost. Add, remove it from the 12-volt water pump to turn on the water, freshwater tank, a pump and open all faucets. If the antifreeze out of the system, turn off the pump and remove theBoiler bypass mode (if applicable). Replace all the water filter cartridge is removed for storage.
* At this point I like to disinfect the water system. Ensure that all procedures are closed and drain plugs are installed. Take a quarter cup of bleach per 15 gallons of water the tank holds fresh water. Mix the bleach with water in one gallon container and pour in fresh water holding tank. Fill the freshwater tankfull of water. Turn the water pump and open all faucets, run water until the smell of bleach. Close the taps and let rest for 12 hours. Let all the water and then fill the tank with fresh water. Turn on the pump and open all faucets until no more bleach odor. You may need to repeat this process to eliminate all signs of bleach.
* The pressure of the water system for water leaks. Check operation of toilet.
* Clean the devicethoroughly. This is a good time for the roof and body seams and window sealant for cracks that allow water to enter questions, studying your dealer for sealants with these materials.
* Check the operation of the tent and clean the fabric curtain, if necessary.
* Check the tires for signs of rot dry. Inflate all tires to the recommended COLD tire pressure.
* Lubricate all hinges and locks with spray lubricant.
* Remove the tape or bootmay have set on LP gas vents to keep insects and rodents. Check any mousetraps could be found. Open all doors and compartments and control the intrusion of rodents and water damage.
* Check and clean the inside.
* Fill in all the devices unplugged for storage and replace the dry batteries have been removed. This is a good time to put new batteries in things like smoke detectors.
* Ensure the proper functioning of the alarm carbon monoxide, LP gas leak detector andSmoke detectors.
* Check the fire extinguisher. Make sure it is fully charged.
* Reset switch you can have all the power off. If you install all fuses removed for storage again.
* Clean or replace air conditioner filters if it had not been done before storage and remove the covers that have been asked to air conditioning.
* Open windows and air vents and instrument.
* If you removed to install the coach and chassis batteries for storage. If you removed or notcheck the electrolyte level, clean the connectors and terminals, and check the status of the battery. Recharge the batteries when needed.
* Check whether the electrical operation of the step. Lubricate step mechanism.
* Ensure the proper functioning of hydraulic presses, if applicable. Control hydraulic fluid.
* Test the backup camera and monitor, if applicable.
* If you do not have the oil and filter before storage in the generator, this is a goodTime to do it. Check the exhaust system of the generator damage before you start. Starting and running the generator for two hours with at least half rated load on them. See the instructions for using the generators capacity.
* Turn on the generator and connect the unit to the current dock. Turn the refrigerator on electric mode. Allow sufficient time to cool and check for proper operation.
* Check all 12-volt internal lighting and accessories.
* Test the monitor panel for properOperation.
* Check operation of slide outs, if applicable.
* Check the remaining 120-volt appliances for proper operation.
* Check the ground fault circuit (GFI) for proper operation.
* Turn the refrigerator off, leave the doors open and have sufficient time for them to room temperature so that it can be controlled in gas mode.
* Before the LP gas system I'm using a leak test and trial operation of the gas pressure has been preformed. A trained technician with thesuitable equipment should these tests.
* After this is done turn the LP gas valve and check operation of all LP gas appliances. Make sure that the boiler is filled with water before testing the water heater. When a gas machine was not working properly, it can be checked by a qualified technician. The insect olfactory receptors are added to LP gas and build nests attracted the device can affect the operating system properly.
* If the equipment is in long-term storage and has notthe engine oil and filter before storing it would be a good time to do so.
* Check all fluid levels of transmission, power steering, coolant, engine oil, brake and washer. Consult your vehicle owner's manual.
* Start the engine and check the readings on all gauges. Check the proper functioning of the dash air conditioning.
* Perform a complete lubrication of the chassis, if you have not done before storage.
* Check the condition of the brushesand replace if necessary.
* Check operation of all lights on the chassis.
* Ensure that the vehicle emissions / inspection sticker on the date
* In addition to this, if you have a pop-up or trailer wheel bearings and brakes (if any) must be checked at least once a year. Check each canvas of dry rot and tears; examine all working smoothly and the clutch for damage. Check the switch-off and pigtail for proper operation.
